The prized Investor in People certification has been has been awarded to UPS Systems plc. Based in Hungerford, UPS Systems is the largest independent standby power provider in the UK. The announcement follows many months of focussed activity and effort from both management and employees alike.
Recognised as a significant indicator of a company’s all round success, the Investor in People award has been an important target for UPS Systems. Since its establishment in 1993 the company’s business philosophy has incorporated strong employee and customer satisfaction values and the further formalisation of this via an Investor in People assessment was a natural progression.
The Investor in People award evaluates a company’s achievements in the following areas:
Commitment to developing employees
Planning of aims and objectives and how employees can achieve them
Actions taken to help develop employees to improve performance
Evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of its investment in people
Regarding the UPS Systems assessment, the IIP Panel reported that “…the report highlights a real commitment and recognition of opportunities regardless of position which is to be commended…”
Manager Director Tom Sperrey said, “Feedback, whether from our employees, customers or third parties such as the IIP panel, is how we continue to be successful. This project has been a most rewarding and positive experience and we highly value the Investor in People accreditation. I am very proud of the enthusiasm and effectiveness of our employees which has been recognised by this Investor in People award.” |
