Hungerford-based UPS Systems has recently won an award organised by West Berkshire Business Club as Business of the year 2004. After submitting a written entry, 4 short-listed companies were invited to give formal presentations. UPS Systems found out that they had won at the Annual dinner on 21st January.
Winning an engraved Rose Bowl, champagne and a voucher for free business consultancy from Reading-based sponsor Kirkpatrick & Hopes, Marketing Manager Karen Sperrey accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“This is the first independent award that we have won and we are absolutely delighted. It is a true reflection of the strength of our whole team.”
Managing Director, Tom Sperrey recently returned to work after 2 months off following a car accident. Although still on crutches, he is now busy back at work. One of the award categories was planning for the future. Tom said, “We put a lot of resource into developing and maintaining good internal systems and in developing our management team. This strategy paid off for us while I was incapacitated and helped us win this award.”
